Review: Circle of Three by Rohit Gore

Hope, a small word yet plays a very crucial role in our lives. Time and again we lean on this word to get a positive out from a whole lot of negatives around us. For some it's a long wait and for some it's short. But the hope is always there. Author Rohit Gore in his book "Circle of Three" tries to entwine lives of three people who have lost all hope. So is he successful in weaving magic with this one single word? Let's find out.

The Circle of Three is the story of three people who have lost all hope in life. One day, their paths cross and their destinies are forever changed.
Thirteen year old Aryan Khosla has no friends, rarely meets his busy and quarrelling parents, and is tormented by a gang of school bullies. He feels his birth was a mistake and thinks no one would notice if he disappeared from this world.
Thirty-three year old Ria Marathe, a successful scriptwriter, lost her husband and only son in a terrible accident, and later came to know her childhood sweetheart husband was cheating on her for a long time. Faced with a lifetime of misery, she has decided to commit suicide.
Sixty-three year old Rana Rathod, a long forgotten author, has carelessly lived off the trust created by his wealthy family and feels betrayed by his two children who sided with his wife during their brutal divorce thirty years back. He fears he is going to die a bitter man.
Will Aryan lose his childhood to his loneliness? Will Ria lose her life to her tragedy? Will Rana lose his dignity to his past sins?
The Circle of Three is about finding a new beginning in life, of forgiving and ultimately, finding hope.

First look at the title and it'll make the readers curious. It's a very unusual title for a book and the same goes for the cover image too. It showcases three people all drowned in despair and their backs turned around to each other. The blurb talks about three people and their lives and their traumas and a single word which might tie them up together. It's an excellent blurb which gives very little away yet compels the reader to open and read the book.

The story revolves around Ria, a young widow, Aryan a 13 year old kid and Rana Rathod a veteran author all three of them without any hopes or aspirations from their lives. But destiny has some different plans for them as they come across each other randomly and from there on a number of events and some small incidents tie them up in such a bond from where there is only one way out i.e fighting your way out and giving troubles a tough time. So will they end up doing well for themselves and find happiness again? That's the story all about.

It's hard to describe such stories in words. The story has a pace of a snail yet it has a charm which can make the readers drool over it for a very long time. Each and every character has been carved out with lovely imagination be it author Rana or snobbish and ever nose poking Aryan or troubled Ria and Vinny and others. They all have a heavy duty part to play in the story. Each and every line is honey to the eyes and makes your imagination run wild. The small word hope has been inculcated in the story with extreme care and caution.

The slight mistake which the book contains is the Chapter 11 i.e "The Three Revelations" has been marked as Chapter 12.  Apart from this there ain't any faults in the story or the book.

This book is a compulsive read for people who are searching for a story made out of the blues with a fine touch of perfection to it. Not everyday such stories are made nor imagined by the writers. It'll makes you think, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry but in the end it gives you a glimmer of hope to live life again to the fullest by conquering your past and your fears. If life is full of surprises, so is this book too.

RATINGS:

4 OUT OF 5.

  1. Usually the best books are mostly undermined and understated! Even I loved this book, but I'm shocked it didn't get the title of national bestseller till yet!

  2. Yeah very true Mehek. Even some ratings are not justified. I wish to see it getting the national bestseller tag soon. :)
