There are many acclaimed authors in the writing industry and there are few authors who are ready to make a mark in the industry for themselves. Age is just a number. Somebody has said it true. But sometimes age does makes a difference. You can pen down a novel at the age of 19 and make readers dance to your tunes or even as old as 60 who by their vast experience can make a book look like a fizzled out piece of work. Mehek Bassi is a young author, who at the age of 19 is ready to take the industry by storm with her debut novel "Chained". Will it be able to chain the users or this chain has some loose ends in it? Let's find out.
Love: One of the strongest emotions
Money: One of the deadliest powers
Fame: One of the most poisonous drugs
When fame overpowers trust, when money rules the relationships, will the true love survive?
Will Arjun be able to drag himself out of the pool of guilt, for killing his wife, Shiya?
When the superstar Rehan, is dragged from riches to rags, will he be able to live the life of a common man, again?
Is patience, always worth it?
For how long can you wait to re-unite with your lover?
What if the wait is as long as three decades?
Will they be able to change their fate, or they’ll forever remain ‘Chained’?
The cover page if you look around the novels which have been published in recent times is edgy and gives glimpses of an author who is vastly experienced in making readers get intrigued from the cover page itself. It's been designed to perfection. The title has been written in blood red which makes a deep impact on the reader even before you turn the page. The blurb talks about fame, money & power. These three entities probably are the ones who hold enough power to make or break a person in any field. It gives you satisfaction yet makes you restless and crave for more at times.
The story is about Arjun & Shiya and their journey together to make a mark for themselves in a glamour world where from a distance every aspect of it might seem to be bright but there's a wave of darkness behind it if not handled carefully. Both the lead protagonist are young and embark towards an unknown destination where the end result might or might not be in their favor. It's about love, betrayal, jealousy, the rise and the fall of people and the trust which binds two people together in a relationship.
Arjun is young, smart & dashing, whereas Shiya is chirpy, ambitious yet a sense of calm prevails in her personality. Rehan is a famous and his status reflects the tag of 'filthy rich". The story has few more characters in it which will make things interesting at times in the story. There are ample twists and turns to hold the complete plot together. The author creates a glittery glamour world where things are smooth until doubts cloud the mind of Arjun and his relationship starts to fall apart. The emotions and the love have been portrayed to perfection. There are no loose ends in the story.
The author has added another aspect in her story by penning down some beautiful poems and quotes which might become the words of the readers in the time to come. The poem in the start of the story is one such example out of the numerous ones which will follow up in the plot. Words such as amazing and well written won't do justice to the novel. But the grief and the love which will create an aura of serenity in the mind of the readers is enough to describe the amount of efforts which has gone in to make it a perfect love story.
There are no loose ends in the story and it's hard to find any. It's edgy, it's gripping, it's full of emotions, its about love & hate & it's a symbol of perfection There are few spacing errors but that won't take away any charm from the whole content.
It's a novel for the masses and Mehek Bassi has struck the right chord with the readers. From the cover page till the end there's no putting down this novel. It's a piece of work which happens once in a lifetime and remains etched in the minds forever.
